Membership Benefits

A unique member experience awaits you at Argonaut Rowing Club. Avid rowers and fitness enthusiasts alike enjoy a diverse selection of rowing programs, scenic lake views, attending member-only events in our newly-renovated Henley Room and a great social atmosphere.

The following benefits are available:

** 24 Concept II Ergometers

Annual Membership Fees cover the period from April 1st, to March 31st.

All the fees are non-refundable, and HST is included in all prices. Payment in full, or in some cases through a deferred Payment Plan, is required before the membership is activated. Boat storage, if available, requires a full year membership.

Membership Categories

Adult

For Masters and Club Program rowers. Full access to club facilities & equipment. Also available under a payment plan where the second and final payment is due June 15th.

Senior (65+ years)

For Masters and Club Program rowers. Must be 65 years of age or older as of Dec 31, 2022. Full access to club facilities & equipment. Also available under a payment plan where the second and final payment is due June 15th.

Gym Only (non-rowing)

Members who select this option do not use any rowing equipment. Full access to club facilities but may NOT row. Late season starts at docks out at the end of November.

Alumni/Social (non-rowing)

No access to rowing or gym equipment.

Para athletes

Access to some club facilities may require special assistance. Also available under a payment plan where the second and final payment is due June 15th.

Coxswain

Full access to club facilities & equipment. Those who select this option must be the appointed coxswain for at least one crew and may race at all regattas. They may not, however, row.

Learn To Train

Learn To Train program at the Argonaut Rowing Club (ARC) is designed as the next step after the Learn to Row program. The objective is for new rowers to develop their skills to the point that they are capable and comfortable to join either a recreational or competitive crew (senior and masters). For details, contact rowingmanager @argonautrowingclub.com. Note – If you have completed a Learn-To-Row (LTR) program outside of the ARC please contact us at  membership @argonautrowingclub.com

Senior, University and U23

Athletes over 23 need to provide a proof of being a university student in the term just ending, and have registered to continue university in the Fall term. Full access to club facilities & equipment. Also vailable under a payment plan where the second and final payment is due June 15th.

Senior, University and U23 Early Season

Valid through August 16th. Athletes over 23 need to provide a proof of being a university student in the term just ending, and have registered to continue university in the Fall term. Full access to club facilities & equipment.

Ex-National Team

Anyone that was a carded national team athlete for Team Canada (who competed for Canada at a senior level in an international regatta) within the last five years. Full access to club facilities & equipment.

Juniors/High School Students

Must be enrolled at a High school as of April. Full access to club facilities & equipment. May race in all regattas. Also available under a payment plan where the second and final payment is due June 15th.

Junior Gym Winter Membership

Valid November to March.

Coaches/Umpires

Those who select this option must be a Board appointed Program Coach or licensed Umpire. Please sign up in RCA under Roles. Full access to club facilities & coaching equipment and tools and may not row or race without paying membership fees

The Fine Print

All Members are required to follow Argonaut Rowing Club Rules and By-Laws, including Transport Canada Regulations and the ARC Safety Policy. Failure to comply with these rules could result in a suspension or revoking of rowing privileges for each member or full crew as set out in the Penalties and Infractions Policy. If in doubt please ask the Head Coach, your program representative or another club official for clarification. Please ensure that you respect the safety of yourself and others by adhering to all Club Rules and safety policies. Please see the complete list of ARC rules and policies by clicking here.

Where the boat or other equipment is damaged while in your care, you and your crew may be responsible for the full amount of the insurance deductible ($1,000 – $2,500).

Safety: Members are responsible for their own safety and must complete a safety test before going on the water.
